Product Creation and the Family Life

Multi-tasking isn't always ideal when you have 3, almost 4 kids wanting all different things at one time. I have an 8 year old, 5 year old, 9 month old and due in May and they definitely keep me on my toes. So how do I keep them entertained while trying to create new and exciting products for others to enjoy you ask? Well, it's not always easy, but we make it work!

Luckily my 8 year old is a very good helper with the other kids, and learning more chores to help out which is awesome. I can usually get her and my 5 year old to do different activities, crafts, or coloring for a period of time. The baby still naps a bit during the day, so I have to utilize that time to the best of my ability to get some work done.

It may only be a couple hour bursts at a time, but you would be surprised what you can get done in just a few short hours without too many distractions. I am actually writing this right now as the little one is sleeping and the two oldest are in school (but can definitely be even more help during the day). I recommend that if you do have some time such as that when you are alone by yourself during the day- you get rid of the cell phone temporarily, or the television, whatever may be the distraction and focus on what is priority.

It would also be so easy for me to get some cleaning done during this time, but I could better use this quiet time to write and reflect or do other work to help out. Since I am basically a stay at home mom who also helps in the family business, I want to be able to contribute when I can, so it's not always on my husband to provide for an almost family of six. I also enjoy time for myself, but I set aside special time for that.

I feel like I play an important roll in the business. I am a designer, secretary, product creator, content provider and I am so happy and blessed that I can have my kids with me while I do all of that. I worked many years as a pharmacy technician and missed so many of my girls "firsts." I am so glad I don't have to bring my kids to daycare anymore and we have decided to create our own business and spend much more time with our kids while they are young. While there have been some sacrifices made, I would not change it for the world. This is the life we always dreamed of.

Remember you can do whatever you want-makes your dreams a reality!
